Emotionology is not therapy, not motivational coaching, and not mindset training.
It is a framework for translating what you feel into the clarity, direction, and steady internal momentum that growth requires.

About Dr. Marilyn

Dr. Marilyn Simmons, PhD — Emotion Science Stategist & Founder of Emotionology Life
Dr. Marilyn Simmons is an Emotion Science Strategist — a researcher and practitioner who works at the intersection of Emotion Science, achievement, and human growth. With a PhD focused on achievement emotions and more than two decades working with students, educators, leaders, and teams, she developed a framework that maps 96 emotional dispositions across how we think, feel, act, and follow through.
Her work is grounded in clarity over complication, science over self-help, and gentle, evidence-based progress over force.
Whether working with an individual, a couple, a classroom, or a leadership team, her approach is the same: understand what the emotions are doing, make one or two micro-shifts, and watch what changes — then keep what works.
A Life That Shaped the Work
From growing up in The Bahamas and teaching in under-resourced U.S. classrooms to conducting research in neuroscience labs and running marathons for the past three decades, Dr. Marilyn’s journey refined one truth:

How We Work
We turn Emotion Science into practical steps you can use right away. No overwhelm—just clear moves, one at a time.
1) Onboarding (free)
You complete a brief form sharing your context, goals, and current friction points. This gives us a clean, human snapshot to start from.
2) Profile (optional, paid)
When selected, you complete our Emotionology Profile—a 96-disposition scan across thinking, motivation, physical energy, and follow-through—to add precise data to your starting point.
3) Synthesis → Plan of Action
We combine your Onboarding themes (your words) with Profile data (your numbers) and craft a 6-session Personalized Plan of Action:

5 core sessions with a Theme, Focus, Objective, In-Session Activity, and Homework/Reflection

Session 6 = Integration & Forward Growth (consolidate gains, set a sustainable rhythm)
4) Coaching Rhythm
We meet regularly (usually weekly) to work the plan: practice one micro-shift at a time, protect your energy, and track what strengthens or settles between sessions.
5) Review & Maintenance
We mark progress you can feel and see, keep what works, and set a light ongoing cadence you can sustain without force.
